Avocado and Spinach Smoothie Recipe

Our avocado, spinach and superfood smoothie is designed for people with busy lifestyles and/or those who want a nutritious start to the day. It’s packed full of essential nutrients, as well as providing a boost of protein, fibre and omega-3 from our superfood blend. This great tasting smoothie is perfect for first thing in the morning, or even after a gym workout.
Avocado: As well as tasting so creamy, avocados have some great health benefits. They are high in fibre and vitamin K and are perfect for helping to lower cholesterol. Avocados are such a versatile fruit: you can mash it and have it on seedy toast, blend it into a smoothie or even have it raw in a salad. And if that wasn’t enough -avocados go so much further- it protects your eyesight and does wonders for your skin.
Spinach: Let’s face it, spinach isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but fortunately there are so many ways to prepare spinach! You can cook it or have it raw in smoothies and juices. It's low in calories, but high in fibre, folate, calcium, and vitamins A, C, and K - just what the doctor ordered.
Berry superfood blend: Our superfood blend is the perfect mix of Maca powder, providing a natural boost of energy and protein. Including this, it also includes plant-based pea protein and a source of Omega-3 in a range of seeds (sunflower, hemp, flax and pumpkin seed powders).
Soya milk and yogurt: We chose soya yogurt as a thicker as it’s high in protein. Soya yogurts have protein counts comparable to cow's milk yogurts and it’s great tasting, too. We’re using soya milk, but any type of milk can be used depending on your taste! Soya is quite neutral tasting and pairs well with soya yoghurt and avocado. Recent studies have shown that soya is also good for lowering cholesterol and decreasing blood sugar levels!
Avocado, Spinach and Super blend smoothie
Ingredients:
1 small avocado cut into chunks
1 heaped cup of fresh spinach
2 tbsp vanilla soya yogurt
½ tbsp berry superfood blend
200ml soya milk
100ml water
Keeping it clean and raw
Recipe:
This part is so simple and will take only a few minutes. Just grab your blender and follow the steps below:
- Blitz the spinach and water on high speed for 1 minute or until you get the desired consistency
- Add the avocado chunks, vanilla yogurt, soya milk and the superfood blend. Blitz on high for further 1 minute
- Pour into your on the go flask or gym bottle for after your workout and enjoy!
Convenience:
It’s not always easy to get your daily minimum of 400g of fruit and veg, or five portions of 80g. Our avocado and spinach smoothie are a great way to get your nutrients in whilst on the go, giving you the required boost before training at the gym or even after an intense workout.
Add your own twist:
Get creative (and a little bit fancy) with your smoothies, invite some friends over for brunch and serve in little milk bottles with straws.
